I'm not really good with my technology lingo. I mean, I try hard and surely my husband repeats some of the same things over and over but I just can't seem to keep my brain on it. Anyway, on to talk about you, not me. Do you know what a micro sd is? Well, they are the world's smallest, most versatile mobile flash memory card.

So, there, now with that knowledge under my belt, even I know what I'm talking about. I have a couple of flash drives and I actually run my entire business off of one. I could go to work and do what I needed to do or I could stay home and do it, not problems either way. So, if you don't know anything about technology, this is the place to learn.

Michael Phelps has been all over the news. I mean, unless you've been under a rock, you've at least heard that he is taking names and kicking the proverbial ass at the Olympics this year. He has won medals, won medals and continued to win some more. Gold medals mind you, not just a medal by any name.

He won his 200 meter individual medley semifinal heat last. He was featured as a person who eats, sleeps and swims. According to the folks at NBC, he swims about 5 hours a day. Ok, 5 hours, whatever! He hasn't much time to relax in this olympics and why would he need time. An athlete of his talent, he obviously doesn't need rest.

He says he has been watching nothing but Planet Earth pretty much the whole time he has been in China. He says he got pumped up watching the hockey flick Miracle as well. His day goes like this, at 8:30 he gets on a bus to go to the National Aquatics Center. Then he stretches, warms-up for thirty to forty minutes and then puts on his suit so he can do some more warm-ups. Then, he swims. And, swim he does!

Let me tell you about exercise

First of all, don't judge me because I have a Bachelor's degree in physical education. I am not your aerobic-teaching, fat-free, sugar-free veggie loving physical education teacher. I am your very plump, poly-cystic ovarian physical education teacher who prefers to coach and not teach at all. That said, I have managed to find myself well over any kind of reasonable limits with my weight.

It all started when I was already over weight from having 2 children. Then, I started steadily gaining 3 to 5 pounds a week. I went to the doctor, and another doctor and yet another doctor before I convinced someone that something was wrong. Yep, I am diabetic and I have a thyroid disorder. Put all those things together and it was time for me to lose some weight. One of my husband's co-workers offered him a free treadmill. It needed a new belt and his wife hadn't used it in years. So, it was on.

It took me months to find a new belt. I didn't know that teadmills were such finicky little creatures about their parts. Anyway, I got the belt. It took me a couple of months to get my husband to put the belt on the treadmill. And, I was promptly diagnosed with mono and told not to exercise for at least 3 months. Well, I feel much better and since the danger in exercise and mono has to do with rupturing an enlarged spleen, I don't really think I am in any danger. So, I'm calling my doctor today to see if I can start walking on the treadmill. I mean, I couldn't run if I wanted to and I can hardly see me doing my spleen any damage just walking, right?

UGG Boots

I'm not a big fashionista. And, for that matter where I live doesn't lend itself to good winter clothes. Summer clothes, summer fashion, yes, we most definitely could get involved in that, but for the most part, winter is just a slightly cooler version of summer. Yes it does get down in the 30's and I know some folks would consider that a winter but it just doesn't get cold for long periods of time. Either way, I do see people out and about, perhaps cold natured people, who try to sport their winter fashions even when the daytime temperatures get up around the 60's mark.

UGG boots aren't really ever necessary in our part of the south if you ask me. But, I know many people, including teenagers who dress with the fashion more than dress for the weather at hand. And, honestly, I am very hot natured so I basically wear short sleeves year round and I suspect that these boots wouldn't be very appealing if I had on a short sleeve shirt. But, I've seen plenty of sweater and turtle neck wearing people out and abut who are wearing the boots or could easily pull off wearing them, even in my neck of the woods.

Carry Underwood is gorgeous that’s plain and simple right? And, she was seen with Tony Romo for a while and she now says that dating is hard when your famous. Humm as if it is easy when you aren’t. No, I really do figure it is much harder when you have people scrutinizing your ever move.

She is on the front of Allure Magazine and she tells them in an interview, “”You never really know why somebody wants to be around you, or if they do genuinely like you,”

She also said, “I wish everyone had a label on their forehead so you could automatically tell their intentions. Sometimes you just wish that no one wanted anything from you.”

But sadly they do not! She was just inducted into Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry and she recalls a time right after Idol when an old college guy who had ignored her in college decided that he wanted to explain himself. Eh whatever I agree with her on that.

Besides Tomy Romo who is now dating Jessica Simpson she has been seen with Chace Crawford from Gossip Girl.

Hayden...my husband loves her

I don't know that he loves her but he sure loved the show Hero's. Now she is in the news because her parents are crazy it seems. Her father was arrested and released from custody today on a $50K bond because he allegedly hit Hayden's mom. I'm not sure what Hayden thinks of that but me thinks it not cool.

Apparently he was up to something or they wouldn't have been awake at 3:15 AM which is the time he was arrested in family's West Hollywood home. Would that be their home or a home Hayden bought them? He was booked on felony domestic violence following the fight with Lesley Voget.

They were arguing at a charity last night that their daughter was hosting...humm. I wonder if it was about how to spend Hayden's money?

Talking Watches

Since I have worked in education most of my life, I've almost always worn a mickey mouse watch of some kind. You know then I went the big name brands when I wanted to dress up. But, I've never had a watch that talked to me. But, right now, talking watches is sounding pretty good. I have so much going on it might be kind of nice if I had a personal assistant to remind me of things that are going on that I need to attend to.

I take medication for diabetes and thyroid disorder and I rarely ever forget. But, if I get sick and I have to take something more than once a day, I will forget it half of the time. And, if I had a watch that would say, "hey you goof ball, time to get some medicine in your system so you can get better", now that might be pretty cool.

Jamie Lynn Spears...a new mom

I don't know what you guys think of this, but this chick is out there. I know tons of girls are loving her for her shows but where to draw the line, where do we make our explanation for how this is not a cool thing to do. Maybe it was an accident, but why was she sexually active?

I have a cousin that had a baby when she was 16. I adored her. My father was very careful to tell me all about it and to also tell me how it was not a good idea. He made sure I understood what my cousin was giving up. It was accident, a baby, produced from one sexual encounter. But, a grown man now, a happy family no doubt.

But for many young girls, they need direction. They need to know how this affects lives of these young mothers. Not every one will have the help that Jamie Lynn will get. My cousin sure didn't get any help.
