Anyway, Us Magazine has a panel that inludes Ace called "Judging the Judge".  Here's the scenario and what Ace had to say.

Randy's advice to Sanjaya after his "Bathwater" performance.

Ace said, "He’s been going for it for the past two weeks. He actually looks more comfortable in the last two weeks than he ever has on stage. I think the crazier he gets as far as ideas, the better. So go all out. He’s got nothing to lose. He wasn’t even in the bottom three. "

Randy's praise for Melinda's version of "Heaven Knows"

Ace says, "Well, Randy always wants you to do well, so with him giving constructive advice, it’s like a new way of looking at things, especially because Doolittle’s been so solid. "
