Michael Phelps has been all over the news.  I mean, unless you've been under a rock, you've at least heard that he is taking names and kicking the proverbial ass at the Olympics this year.  He has won medals, won medals and continued to win some more.  Gold medals mind you, not just a medal by any name.

He won his 200 meter individual medley semifinal heat last.  He was featured as a person who eats, sleeps and swims.  According to the folks at NBC, he swims about 5 hours a day.  Ok, 5 hours, whatever!  He hasn't much time to relax in this olympics and why would he need time.  An athlete of his talent, he obviously doesn't need rest.

He says he has been watching nothing but Planet Earth pretty much the whole time he has been in China.  He says he got pumped up watching the hockey flick Miracle as well.   His day goes like this, at 8:30 he gets on a bus to go to the National Aquatics Center.  Then he stretches, warms-up for thirty to forty minutes and then puts on his suit so he can do some more warm-ups.  Then, he swims.  And, swim he does!

I don't know that he loves her but he sure loved the show Hero's.  Now she is in the news because her parents are crazy it seems.  Her father was arrested and released from custody today on a $50K bond because he allegedly hit Hayden's mom.  I'm not sure what Hayden thinks of that but me thinks it not cool.

Apparently he was up to something or they wouldn't have been awake at 3:15 AM which is the time he was arrested in family's West Hollywood home.  Would that be their home or a home Hayden bought them?  He was booked on felony domestic violence following the fight with Lesley Voget.

They were arguing at a charity last night that their daughter was hosting...humm.  I wonder if it was about how to spend Hayden's money?

I don't know what you guys think of this, but this chick is out there.  I know tons of girls are loving her for her shows but where to draw the line, where do we make our explanation for how this is not a cool thing to do.  Maybe it was an accident, but why was she sexually active? 

I have a cousin that had a baby when she was 16.  I adored her.  My father was very careful to tell me all about it and to also tell me how it was not a good idea.  He made sure I understood what my cousin was giving up.  It was accident, a baby, produced from one sexual encounter.  But, a grown man now, a happy family no doubt. 

But for many young girls, they need direction.  They need to know how this affects lives of these young mothers.  Not every one will have the help that Jamie Lynn will get. My cousin sure didn't get any help.

I have always thought this was one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen.  I don't know why as a celebrity she has just seemed so clean and crisp to me.  She has been going through emotional crap including her divorce from Richie Sambora.  And, the fact that I love her opennes about seeking help for anxiety and depression....that's just seals the deal......

Apparently she put on a good show for folks, but the fact of the matter is, she was hurting.  Even during a four-week shoot in Canada and Hawaii, Heather learned to surf so she could do her own stunts!  Now how cool is that?

Basically in my opinion, right now is the day of the reality shows.  And, since you can catch Dancing with the Stars on now and then you can anticipate the arrival of So You Think You Can Dance, everyone has to know that reality TV is here to stay.  As for Dancing with the Stars, I have never had a problem picking a favorite or favorites.  I don't think we actually watched the first season, but after that, I was most definitely all over Mario Lopez.  I mean, who wasn't?  I liked Emmitt Smith too and in reality, that would probably should have been a tie. 

This past season came and went and my time was crunched totally  and even with a DVR, I didn't get to see all of every show.  I did make it a personal challenge to make sure I got to see Jason Taylor regardless of whether I saw anyone else.  And, if I had to pick a guy to be my favorite of all time, definitely it would be Jason.  But, of course, Kristi is a dancer on ice and it shouldn't surprise anyone that she can dance on a regular floor.  So, we shall see.

Renee Zellweger was asked what she would do to work with George Clooney.  and, her answer?  "If he had asked me to make peanut-butter sandwiches for the catering, I would have said, 'Crunchy or smooth?'"  Ok, whatever, he looks good but that analogy takes me no where.  Oh but I love me some Mariah Carey and hey, did you know she is going to be on American Idol this season too.  Whoot!  Anway, when asked what she thinks about having fame, she replied, "Sometmies you just do really feel like an ATM machine with a wig on it."  ERm...., didn't get that one either. 

I must say, the celebs are failing me this week.  I try hard to find the good ones but folks, those last two?  They are seriously in question.

Remember the deaf actress who was on....oh, a bunch of shows.  I remember her most as the deaf attorney on some show and then as a crazy killer on Law and Order.   Anyway, she is now Dancing With the Stars.  Her partner, Fabian Sanchez was asked about Marlee Matlin and his response?  "She's got a potty mouth."  Ok, does she really talk?  I didn't realize that.  Let's switch gears to someone I actually like.  How about Carrie Underwood?  Yea, I like her a lot and apparently so do the folks at the Grand Ol' Opry.  They are going to induct her into the GOO and all she could say was "Let me think about it."  ER.....no Carrie, no thinking allowed!

Well good ol' Tori Spelling is getting a girl.  She said she would tell Dean that"Since he has Jack and now Liam, I always tell him that he's shooting only boys."  Yea my husband does that too and he wasn't willing to try for number 3.

Listen, I love me a pretty baby and I'm  here to tell you, right here and right now, Jennifer Lopez has 2 of the most gorgeous children on Earth.  I know she is gorgeous and I  know some thing ol' Marc is sexy.  But, people, kids don't just come into this world this beautiful.  There's always the shape of a baby's head to be examined and these 2 beauties have the most awesome shapes to their heads.  And, figure, they were twins so they didn't have much room in there, what with that belly not protruding for all of us to see until really late. 

Then, skin color is really obvious in little babies.  Some babies have acne, some don't.  These beauties either had some wonderful airbrush touch-up work done or they are simply star bound from birth.  See for yourself.

I'm all about people doing there part.  And, the fact that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have adopted kids from various places tells me that yes, they are doing their part.  I mean, it isn't like they need more kids, the kids need them it seems.  and now, now they've gone and give $8 Million to a charity.  All of that behind the scenes to boot. 

I mean, there's the $4.5 million from Brad and the 4.1 million from Ang going to charities in 2006 alone.  Then, in 2007 Pitt even raised $5 Mil for his Make It Right Foundation. 

The funds were handed out to Doctors without Borders and to the Global AIDS Alliance.  Also to the Nambia Red Cross Action Program and $100K to the Daniel Pearl Foundation.  On top of that, $20K went to a park in LA and another $5K to 2 different orphanages that Jolie has visited.
